INTRODUCTION

the visual display unit (VDU) according to the International Labour Office (1989) described as an electrical VDU tool used to receive information from the computer system shown in a very short time emerged from comparative obscruity in the science laboratory ( s) to a comprehensive classification and pin-able part of the normal working hours, the lives of millions of people, both at home and at work. As the technological revolutioncontinues, the use of the computer screen-base output grows at a unit or VDU increse rate. Worldwide, millions of screens now in use, receive and process information on television-like screen or monitor. It is also a television monitor type display that information from computerized word processor instead of a signal for the broad cast Televisio. It contributes VDU interactive element between the operator and the computer system. The displays can be limited to one of the main computer, such as a terminal or the physical entity comporising the VDU computer system would also, as with a personal computer (PC). The basic principle of operation of most monitors in use simikar to that of television. They contain a large evacuated glass tube, called the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), which is a source of electrons (the cathode) and a phospor coating on the inside of the vewing thte face of the screen to take. A high voltage (usually) in the range of 10-25kV accelerated electrons from the cathode towards the cathode electrode half mentioned. They pass through a hole in the anode to the phosphor materials. But computers are very important and all the apparent complexity, it resembles a broad range of applications HVE and an increasing role in our society like office, trade and industry, public services and of course school and at home, with this we can see that the importance of the monitor can not be over emphasized.

Presentation of the issue
The study is to determine the influence of the computer monitor (VDU), a computer system of an organization and is described below:
1. what are the effects of computer work and to human health?
2. what are the control and prevention of computer work to effect?
3. what are the measuement and level of control over the radiation of computer work?

Purpose of the study
The purpose of this seminar is to provide information on the computer monitor are based on the impact, importance and use of the computer in a computer system of an organization.

Scope of the study
This project work will mainly be based on the use, importance and the configuration of a computer monitor

METHODOLOGY
During this project, the data obtained from the second Sorce, cisist this information from journals, texetrbooks, Encarta software and research. Also search engines like www. google. com, www. devil finder. com, www. Mommy. com, and son will also be contacted during the project.

LIMIITATION OF THE STUDY
This research suppose to go in-depth, but due to power FAI. lure, there is no money to move from one place to another, little time and research fund allocation is also expensive to implement.

ANALYSIS TO THE STUDY
In the first generation of computer Which was between the years 1945-1958 one of the first digital computer in this generation is a machine called ENIAC (Electrical Numerical Integrator and Calculator) was built on the design band's Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania in 1956. This ENIAC contained over 18,000 vacuum tubes wieghed more than 30 tonnes and the required floor area of 1500 square fact. It was programmed until 6000 switch and connecting cables between the various units of the computer.
The second generation introduced the design of computer between (1958-1964) was based on the machine shop using discrete semiconductor diodes concet, translator and so on. The vacuum would reduce weighed about 25 tons and required 1000 square on the floor again and reduce heat. The size-reduction by using semiconductor elements.
Between 1964-1971 was the third generation f computer is the third generation of the computer that was characterized by a further reduction of the VDU sixe voices low, low heat generatiion. Introducing im [proved method for storing and viewing the details of applicaron Integrated Circuits (IC), they accept input data using magnetic tape and magnetic disk, which they accepted for secondary storage.
In 1971-1975 here computer were first designed on the basis of large-scale integrated circuit along with vacuum and 3tube transistror. Each electronic along its own set of characteristics including reliability, packing density, heating dissipation, speed and cost of all the designer should review the VDU size was drastically reduced compared to the first generation and the cost is very cheap . This quarter of the computer also known as a microprocessor chip and is characterized by energence of personal computers (PCs) called foruth generation programming language, such as spreadsheets, Dbase III, windows, menus and dialogs other paraphernalia.
The fifth generation of the computer (1975-1995) is the parent language franca of each user. Hence the following thechonolgies involved in the fifth generation: (1) micro-electronics (2) computer architecture (3) Artificial Intelligence (4) Language processing (5) Database Management. A logical influence is an elementary inductive method of reasoning, and each lip is equal to about 300 instructions on a conventional computer.
The sixth generation of computer monitor was the innovation called the geneation Optic Computer, the computer of this generation from the year 1995 until the date of this generation and his laptop computer, palmtop computer, plasma flat-screen computer, all of which have bi constructed. Here are the computer monitor that has emerged in this generation of MDA (Monocrono Display Adapter), HA (Hercules adapter). CGA (Color Graphics Adapter), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), Palmtop plasma TV and so on.

The design of a MONITOR
The monitor can be a link to major computer, such as a terminal, or the physical entity consisting of the VDU computer system would also, as with a personal computer (PC). The basic principle of the operation of most monitors in use is similar to that of television. They contain a large evacuated glass tube called Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), which is a source of electrons (the cathode) and a phosphor coating on the inside of the viewing screen to adopt. A high voltage (typically in the range of 10-25kV) accelerates electrons leave the cathode drum for half elctrode on the direction and so the impact of the points of the electrons on the phosphorus are controlledby magnetic field produced by deflecting the coils mounted near the rear of the tube. In this way the electron beam horizontally and vertically swept over the face view of the entire face is covered usually in about 1/70th of a second. By modulating the intensity of the electron beam in each position, the resulting pattern of light and dark points are generated in pictrue. The electronic circuit used to control these processes leads to both radio frequency (RF) field and the electric and magnetic fields of lower frequencies. Recently, solid state circuits in parallel with liquid crystal, gas plasma display or similar technology (s) used to replace the tube. However, a rather limited extent.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
Computer - an electronic device can store and process information in accordance with a set of instructions.
Cathode Ray Tube - a vacuum tube in which the bundle of electrodes a luminous ones to produce images on a fluorescent screen, used in television and display unit (VDU).
Monitor - a television used to pictrue of a camera including a computer display.
Monochrome - consisting of or display image in black and white or shades of one color.
Hercules: - requiring or Greate strnght or securities.
Flash: - shine with a bright but short or irregular light.
Pixels (Pictrue Element) - one of the small beam on a screen, made up of an image.
Palette - a thin board on which an artist mixes pints abd ANF was the range of the color used by an artist.

CONCLUSION
Finally, there are no health hazards associated wityh radiation field of graphics adapter and monitor. However, since a large number of people involved in VDU sohould measure be taken to ensure that economic well-designed VDU workplace. These solutions include aspect of the display, the workplace and the work environment and work organiszation.
